Botallack Mine in Cornwall is steeped in history - I can feel an almost palpable sense of heritage even upon approach. Threatening cloud looms high overhead and the first heavily pregnant drops of rain fall as I crouch behind a large rocky outcropping, watching as the tones of the jagged cliffs darken seemingly by the second.
